Required Conditions for Graduation from the Faculty

In order to graduate from the faculty, students must successfully complete all courses, assignments, internships and applications in the curriculum, have provided 300 ECTS credits, and have achieved a minimum grade point average of 2.00 out of 4.00.

Physical Infrastructure

Students who will be enrolled in the faculty will receive their education in the Kiraz District of Izmir. The district of Kiraz is located within the Küçük Menderes basin, which also includes the districts of Bayındır, Beydağ, Kiraz, Menderes, Ödemiş, Selçuk, Tire and Torbalı, and is 156 km away from İzmir and approximately 2 hours away. The main livelihood of the region is animal husbandry.

The multi-purpose service building allocated to our University by Kiraz Municipality has a total area of ​​4,043,80 square meters, including a 160 square meter hall, a pocket movie theater, a 670 square meter multi-purpose hall, a shelter, many study rooms and 8 workplaces. There is also a parking area of ​​2,000 square meters. An animal hospital and farm will be established as soon as possible.

The county of Kiraz, the biggest source of livelihood of which is animal husbandry, is located within the Küçük Menderes basin, and its distance from İzmir is 156 km. According to the 2018 data of İzmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry; In İzmir provinces and districts, 762,668 cattle, 7,148 cattle (horses, donkeys, mules, camels), 937,905 small ruminants, 21,997,702 poultry; In the Küçük Menderes basin, where the faculty is located, 571,328 cattle, 2,788 cattle (horses, donkeys, mules, camels), 309.120 ovines, 7,295,770 poultry; In Kiraz District, there are 99.893 cattle, 169 cattle (horses, donkeys, mules, camels), 33,050 small cattle, 4.187 Beehives and 134,258 poultry.

In 2018, 2,434,949 tons of milk, 43.096 tons of red meat, 426,984 tons of poultry meat, 866 tons of fleece, 88 tons of goat hair, 2,776 tons of honey, 136 tons of wax, 202,825 breeding eggs and 1,807,000 eggs were produced in İzmir provinces and districts in 2018. egg production was made. Approximately 2,005,409 tons of total milk production, 276 tons of wool production, 22.1 tons of goat hair production, 648 tons of honey production, 21 tons of wax production, 120,714 egg production, 126,543 units of breeding egg production and 7,291 tons of red meat production It was produced in the Küçük Menderes Basin, where the Kiraz district, where the faculty is located, is located. Therefore, our Faculty, as Izmir’s first Veterinary Faculty, will provide great services to the region and the local people.
